While one of the best way to become a better photographer is to take more pictures perhaps the next best way to improve your photography is to look at the work of other photographers. Taking the time to look at other's work gives you an opportunity as a photographer to develop your eye and this ultimately can help you make more compelling photographs. When looking at the photographs of others your should critique the photographer?s work, look at why a particular shot works or doesn't. A great way to see the work of others is to attend photograph exhibits. The club will attempt to share information about local and regional photographic exhibits as well as exhibits from members and the club itself.

It is the intent of the Calvert Photography Club to periodically exhibit our work throughout the Southern Maryland region. Additionally we hope to see our members exhibiting their work. Check here to learn about the latest exhibits from the club and its members.

Are you exhibiting your work somewhere? Let us know and we will be happy to spread the word.

Trip to Riversdale House Museum TIME CHANGED (March 02, 2019) -

Riversdale, a National Historic Landmark in Riverdale (between College Park and Hyattsville), is a restored five-part stucco-covered brick plantation home built between 1801 and 1807. Construction of this elegant manor house was begun by Henri Stier, a Flemish aristocrat, and was completed by his daughter Rosalie and her husband George Calvert, grandson of the fifth Lord Baltimore. The Federal style mansion has particularly fine interior decorative detail. Numerous nationally significant figures later lived there. Further information about the property at Riversdale Historical Society | PG Parks

Also known as Baltimore House, Calvert Mansion or Riversdale Mansion, Riversdale House Museum is located at 4811 Riverdale Road in Riverdale Park, Maryland, between College Park and Hyattsville.

This is an opportunity to practice photographing architecture and interiors. Our group will enjoy a private guided tour of the mansion starting at 12:30 pm sharp. There will be ample time to wander and take pictures before and atfer the tour – the grounds are open until dusk. In early March they expect bulbs to be in bloom. There will also be an exhibition of photographs of Riversdale taken by members of the Goddard Photo Club. This exhibition should inspire us to explore new approaches to architectural and garden photography.

Reserve your spot with Aliza Goldman by Thursday February 21st!
